What the app adds for Winter sports

These seven come from the activity itself, with the counts shown for a seven day trip.

Winter sports kit

7 items
  • Ski jacketWaterproof warmth on the slopes1
  • Ski or snow pantsStay dry in the snow1
  • Thermal base layersWarmth under your kit3
  • Ski glovesWarm, waterproof hands1
  • Ski gogglesGlare and wind protection1
  • Warm ski socksCosy feet, and thin enough for the boot4
  • Lip balm and SPFSun reflects off snow1

One thing to be clear about. Voyalist packs the ski kit because you ticked the activity, not because it read a forecast for your resort. There is no weather service behind it and no network call. Everything in the next block is the part you decide yourself.

The rest of the week

Add these as custom items once and they travel with the trip when you duplicate it next winter.

The counts for a week on snow

The ski kit sits on top of the everyday list, so a seven day trip still comes out at eight pairs of underwear, eight pairs of ordinary socks, seven tops and three pairs of trousers, plus the four pairs of ski socks above. If the chalet has a washing machine, say so in the app and the tops drop to five and the trousers to two. The full table is here.

Renting boots and skis is worth a line of its own. If you rent, the boot bag and ski bag come off the list and you save the two largest items you would otherwise carry through an airport. If you own your kit, add both, and check the airline's winter sports allowance before you assume it flies free.
